Most of you know the rules by now. The first person to correctly answer all 10 questions within the time frame will be the winner. Only one post per person will be allowed. A "Bag-O-Tags", consisting of a grab bag filled with assorted out of print US airline luggage tags.

Valujet bumper sticker

A "Bag-O-Wings", consisting of a grab bag filled with assorted kiddie wings from various US airlines.

Good responses! I see that participation in these things is rising. But unfortunately, as of the 7th attempt, no one has gotten all 10 answers correct. So this thing is still open!!!!

From now on I am not going to believe anything anyone says on this site. I thought that someone would have got question 3 right.
3 should be N927L, from Airliners 58. Centre picture.
Quote "DC-9-34 N927L seen in October 1995, shortly after arriving at St. Louis in then new colour scheme N927L was the first aircraft so painted." end quote.

The entire article was on TWA OZARK NINES.

Well, we were close-but no winner.

Answers to the quiz are as follows:

1. True. Although they never operated the DC-9's and MD-80's. They were owned via the takeover of Muse Air. This was a "gotcha" question.

2. British Atlantic

3. N927L

4. NOBODY answered this one correctly. The answer to this one is Muse Air! Please see Deregulation Knockouts and Airliners Winter 1993.

5. Braniff

6. Lauda (Niki Lauda)

7. Alaska

8. Northwest

9. America, Fairwind, Tradewind. Please see Airliners Nov/Dec 1996 p. 39

10. Air New Zealand DC-10

Well since we didn't have a winner with this quiz, or the last one, that means the next quiz I post will have a triple prize!!

Tune in to Airliners.Net frequently to see when I post it!

Thanks to all who participated.

Matt D,

a) 747buff has Nr. 4 right (but Nr. 8 wrong, pity...)

b) http://www.netguest.com.br/panam/pa2fleeteng.htm has no Tradewind; the only winds are Fair Wind, Fleetwind and Whirlwind (the latter not being one of the first three) - so who´s right? Just an academical question, though, "thanks" to Nr. 4...

Oh yeah...he did get number 4 right. I guess I missed that one after seeing Delta over and over.

As for the Clipper questions, I took the answer right out of Airliners magazine, which I consider to be a reliable source of information.

But even if they did have a misprint (which does happen once in awhile), then I can change the answer.
But doing so would be a red herring because there would still be no winner.
