The Most Beautiful MD-80

Tue Feb 06, 2001 12:30 am

Which airline has the nicest C/S on a MD-80?

I love the new Finnair C/S especially on the '83.

I have to say that AeroMexico´s new paint scheme looks amazing on the MD8X´s. I just love to ride on those horses.

Yes, I would have to say TWA's new colors. One time, we were flying from Orlando MCO to STL on one of these, and on approach into STL, we were on 12L, and a new TWA MD-80 was beside us on the approach for 12R, just a little ahead of us. The sun was shining on it as it touched down, and it was really a nice looking aircraft. Very cool to watch.

CSA, Finnair hasn't as far as i know painted any MD83s to the new scheme yet. BTW currently one of the MD11s (OH-LGA) is in the D-Mainteance check, it will get the new colors too, can't wait to see it!

The Finnair new livery is the second best, the old livery the best.

No MD-83s yet, but at least one MD-82, OH-LPA, which is almost the same as the MD-83  Big grin

Yes, the old Finnair livery is without argument the best one out there Big grin , but here's a good runner up IMHO:

American MD80s I like the classic metal scheme. The md80 looks nice in any colors though!

First let me say that all MD-80s look good, I don't think I've ever seen one where poor colors make the plane look bad.

I have to say Alaska, not sure if it is because they're what I'm used to or if they really are the best.

The planes really are gorgeous, seeing one take off at PDX or SEA in the rain or seeing one early in the morning after it rains with the sun gleaming on the clean white paint is great. Reno Air ones also look nice.

I would say AA. The classic metal on their domestic workhorse looks great. Finnair looks great also, but not as good as American.

My definition of cool ? Not trying so hard to be cool.

Sorry, I was too fast on the keyboard when writing, of course I meant the LPA - 82.

Thanks for correcting me.

BWIA all the way; that new scheme is very neat on the MD83. 2 of their 4 MD83s have been repainted so far.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, thank you. TWA's MD-80s look absolutly stunning in the new colors, or any of their aircraft. Damned American. Here is an excellent picture to illustrate.
