As British Midland continues to grow, and introduces more European aswell as US routes, would it be financially benificial for them to operate aircraft that could carry more passengers on short flights?
I ask this because BA & SAS have B767s designated to shorthaul flights, LH & Olympic fly A300s to LHR on a regular basis & many other airlines use widebodies on short flights.
Obviously passengers want frequency over capacity of a/c, but if it works for other airlines, why not for BD?
Ofcourse they've just spent alot of money on the A330s, but can you see them having a need for such a/c in the near future?
What a/c type would be best?

Also, I read today (on another website, not sure which) that BD will begin their own flights to Frankfurt. Currently they codeshare with LH, but are apparently going to fly there themselves.
Can anyone confirm this?
