What Is A 777-style Interior?

Sun Feb 11, 2001 6:00 am

I keep hearing about these new CO 767s with '777 style' interiors. What does this involve? How many other aircraft (I am aware of the 767-400) have this interior? Why is it better? Yes, I have flown on a 777, and the interior was very comfortable. Is the 767 that similar in dimentions to accomidate this? Thanks in advance.

A 777 style interior is the new interior design from Boeing for it's widebody planes. It debued (sp?) on the 777, giving it the name of the 777 style interior.

Here are some examples of a Continetal 777. Notice the curved overhead bins, and high celings.

Now here are some from the 767-400. Notice the same type of overhead bins.

Thanks for the pictures! Is there any other airline that plans to do this to their 767s?

The 767-400 comes from Boeing with this interior. Continental's 767-200s has this interior as well, as they are brand new. Airlines that are placing orders for any new 767s will have this new interior. Delta airlines is getting the 767-400, and it has this same interior.

Boeing said that they will use the 777 design all all 767-400s.

Sometimes boeing and the airlines also refer to their NG 737s as having the 777 style architecture like the DL aircraft below:

Also, the new 753 is fitted with this interior as seen in this condor aircraft:

Boeings preliminary drawings of the hopefully to be 747X also show the 777 style interior that looks quite similar to the 777's.

Also, Airbus renderings of the A380 interior are uncannily similar to the B-777 "New Age" interior.

Guess we know what the best form of compliment is.... Big grin
