ATA's Tristar Future?

Does anyone know what ATA's plans are for its L-1011's? I've seen one source indicating they will be replaced by 757-300's, but it seems the 757 is too small to directly replace the 3star, particularly for military charters...

I remember hearing that the L1011's aren't headed anywhere for a bit... the 753s seem to be growth a/c.

By capacity and range the B767-400, the A330-200 and the A340-200 could be possible candidates to replace the L1011's, but I don't think they will be replaced so soon.

Flashmeister is right, The L1011s will be around for a while now. The rumors change daily. I did hear about the new MX bases though, and I can't say where they will be at this time. I heard from a ATA supervisor that the L1011s, believe it or not, have a higher dispatch rate this past month or two than the 727s.

I don't think the comment about the 1011s having a a better dispatch rate than the 727s says much, I figure it is relativly low for both. It seems the 753 will replace the 722s and the 1011s will be replaced later on with perchance, simply based on fleet commonality, 764ERX.

ATA is going to "replace" some long-body L-1011 aircraft by the new B757-300s. Anyway, they did not make a decision for a long-range aircraft to replace the L-1011-500s yet.
