Singapore Airlines ORD To JFK

Sat Feb 17, 2001 5:47 am

I was really bored so started tracking random flights when I saw SQ7974, its a 747-400 from ORD to JFK. Has anyone been on this flight or know about this flight. I m guessing this flight picks up passengers from ORD and then JFK right??.

Yes, if this flight exists it is a cargo flight, as SQ doesn't have any pax flights ORD-JFK. Also, the US government forbids foreign airlines from flying passengers domestically, except as part of an international flight (eg, Qantas JFK-LAX-SYD).

definitely SQ cargo, i think it flies ORD-JFK-europe/india-SIN. SQ isn't operating pax flights to ORD yet, and even when it starts it will be with 772s instead. finally, SQ's scheduled pax flights are all 3 digit flight numbers, only charters and cargo flights operate with 4 digits.

All SQ flights bearing the flight numbers SQ 7XXX are cargo flights operated by their fleet of B747-400F's.
