MIA-EGE (Vail)?

Sat Feb 17, 2001 7:41 am

According to the incomplete non-stop destination list (missing Rome and Zurich; even though it states 12 European destinations and lists only 10) at MIA's new website, American is now flying MIA-EGE non-stop. Is this true? The funny thing is, a friend of mine left for Vail today (Vail is a popular vaction spot for Miamians), and last week I asked her what airline she was taking, and, although she wasn't taking non-stop (MIA-DEN-EGE on UA), she was telling me how they now had non-stop service. So, is this a fluke, or is American really now flying MIA-EGE (and assuming this is seasonal)?

AA has seasonal service from a number of cities to Vail (actually Eagle County Airport, IIRC) during the skiing season. As a matter of fact, there's a big billboard when driving toward the Tahoe ski resorts leaving San Francisco, touting the nonstop service from SFO-EGE.

I know they have had either daily or weekly service from Miami to EGE in the past, so I would assume that they still do.

AA has daily service from EGE to: DFW, ORD, EWR, and SFO. Service is Saturday only between EGE-LGA, along with MIA. All of these flights are 757s, and I assume seasonal.

AA serves EGE from SFO,DFW,ORD,LGA,EWR,MIA. American has its own "terminal" at EGE and it is pretty nice. AA is the biggest airline at EGE. I have flown DFW-EGE for ages, because beaver creek is where I have been skiing for the past 10 years. Not just for my family, but colorado is a very popular destination for dallasites. I see lots of people from school there, when we see each other at school once school is in, we talk about it. Yes, AA does serve EGE non-stop from MIA.
