(San Francisco-AP) -- San Francisco International Airport could soon be the first airport in the world to have every bag on international flights X-rayed and matched to a passenger.
Airport security personnel say S-F-O is installing and testing a state-of-the-art security system.
It's so comprehensive that the federal government and airports around the world are watching to see how well it works.
For international flights, special microchip tags will only allow bags on planes when their owners are aboard.
The airport installed sophisticated anti-terrorism equipment and procedures when it decided to build the new international terminal.
Officials say the new security system should be in place by this summer.
