I have recieved a report from a good, reliable source who says Royal is getting rid of all their 737-200's, and replacing them with 737-300's from Lufthansa. The first of 7 planes arrives in May and they will be quickly replaced after that. C-FNAP and C-FNAQ may go back to purely cargo operations. The Royal Cargo 737-200's will stay around but no more passenger 737-200's flying for Royal. I find this news is quite interesting, especially in the wake of the C3 buyout, which to my knowledge hasn't been approved yet, but most likely will be. I would assume these 737-300's won't last too long in the Royal c/s and could possibly even be flown in a basic Lufthansa scheme, which isn't a drastic difference to the Royal c/s like the old US Air colours are. But it's also good to see more Boeing's in Canada, Airbus is making Toronto such a monotoneous airport (Toulouse - West/Ouest).
