Are MD A/c Replaced More Often By A Or B A/c?

Mon Feb 26, 2001 11:40 am

It seems to me that many former DC-9/MD-80 operators are buying A320s to replace them, especially if they didn't operate the 737 already.

Is the 737NG family losing out to the A32X family in fleet updates? (not counting Delta, American, and Continental)

Case 1:
Already operated 737s and MD-80s. Delta and American and Continental.

Case 2:
MD operator that goes Boeing. SAS (why couldn't they have done the smart thing and bought 717s?)

Case 3:
Goes Airbus. Swissair.

Not counting the majors, is this true?

Just read in either Airways or Airliner Magazine that Boeing is winning more of the orders. something like 51% to 49% or 59% to 41%
