TU-134cx, Agricultural Aircraft

Sat Mar 03, 2001 9:48 pm

I saw in the TY 134 production list some TY- 134cx (agricultural). How can a plane of that size be used as an agricultural aircraft ? Most of these planes now belong to Voronezh Avia and Ivanovo Air. Are there visible differences with other TU 134 ?

I'd love to go cropdusting in a TU134.

It was probably intended for high altitude atmospheric samples, rain content etc. The British Government have a fleet for that purpose (Dept of the Environment), and have just ordered a BAe 146.
fly Saha Air 707s daily from Tehran's downtown Mehrabad to Mashhad, Kish Island and Ahwaz

The Tu-134CX is actually a high altitude laboratory, and is currently used by the Russian Institute of Land and Ecosystems Monitoring
