The Airbus jet flies to Pontiac/Oakland Co. International Airport, my supervisor lives across the street from the airport and she see's the Airbus fly over her backyard. I would imagine though it flying into DTW sometimes for business on the south side of the city? Maybe not.
I would like to suggest going to metroairport.com under the History section, there you will see that BA has been a player at DTW for a long time now. Lufthansa left DTW in favor of ORD (United Airlines), but then again returned in 1999 (I was there for the first flight). Lufthansa also introduced LH Cargo B747-200 and MD-11 service but discontinued it in favor for ORD.
As for DTW being a dump, well, it's a old airport. I work in the IT and believe me, it is not all that great. Get two delayed flights at the IT and the gate area is packed! The new terminal, or I should say, new terminals*, will greatly improve DTW!
The latest rumor thats been going around for a while now is Air France starting service when the new terminal open. All international carriers will rent gate space from NW. Leaving the current IT for charter airlines.
Otherwise, I have a detailed list of airliner movements at http://fly.to/detroitmetro
