Hi. Please anyone let me know if I am out of line asking the following questions but please do it in a polite way for I am very sincere in trying to get some advice. My husband is 26 and a flight engineer in the Air Force and has 8 years in He has his private pilots license and about 200 hours. He desperately wants to become a pilot but not quite has his Associates Degree. Well now is the time for a crucial decision that I am looking for advice on from someone who has some insight and wisdom. Who has been there in some way.He could stay in for 4 more years and get his degree, his instrument rating then get out and go to Flight Safety. He could also get out be a airline dispatcher or get his A&P and be a mechanic. (I know his heart would not be fullfilled doing these two things though). Or he can get out go to Flight Safety and rack up I think $30,000 in loans of which the military would only pay a small amount of I believe since its not a college. We have two children and I am employed full time and can transfer my job down to Florida where Flight Safety is but it would be tight financially.
He really dislikes the military and his job.
All he ever talks about is flying. All the time.Even in his sleep. And spends coutless hours on the flight simulater at the computer. That is is dream to fly.
I guess I'm looking for someone to tell me what to do but I know that's not right so if anyone has any advice or been in the same situation, etc
I would appreciate anyone's time and advice for I know it is sincere.
