The Status Of UAL's B 747-100/200?

Fri Mar 09, 2001 2:37 am

Hi everyone.

As you all know, all of UAL's B 747-100s as well as B 747-200s have gone. Where are they now? It has been a long time I haven't heard about them.

Some of you in the past have told me that the B 742s will be turned into freighters while the B 747-100s will be scrapped. Right?

Does anyone know the current status of UAL's B 747-100/200? Please let me know. Thanks!  Smile

All of United's 122s as well as some 123s (which were the last to go) were so old, having been some of the original builds, that they have to be scrapped. I believe the -238B's were sold to Northwest to be turned into freighters.

While were on the subject, I hope FedEx takes care of United's beloved DC10 (soon to be MD10) fleet.

So ALL the 100s will be scrapped?

This is kinda sad but they eat up too much cash.
