As far as I know, they're going to use both A320s and A330s. There have been rumours that they'll look into 727s if they can't their hands on A320s fast enough, but that seems to have died down a bit. There's a couple Roots/Skyservice employees on the forum, so they may be of more help (registry #, etc...).

They will be using 727s, just look at their schedule. I can't believe how poorly their website is put together.

Are they using 727s? I stand corrected then. On which routes will they be deployed?
On your second point, website is quite pleasing- aesthetically and from a design perspective, but it's navigation does suck. It should be a straight up website with clearly marked links- not some metaphors that users need to figure out before they click on the link. It would make a good website for a design firm, but not an airline who's customer base is people in rush hungry for info.

RootsAir will be using 2 727s leased from Kelowna Flightcraft. They are being prepared for Roots right now and have been painted in their liveries. The 727s here at YLW are painted differently from each other. One has a R in a circle on the tail and the other has horizontal lines separating different colors on the tail. The Fuselage is all white except for RootsAir in red. They look pretty ugly IMHO, but it's hard to really ruin the look of a 727! I think they're only going to be using them until they get some more new Airbuses.

As far as I know are they getting a brand new A320 c/n 1411 with reg C-FRAA and they will get an A330 which is flying for LTU International Airways at the moment (c/n 143). The A330 is planned I'm not sure if it actually will happen. you can check further movements of the Roots Air ac on our website (see profile)

From what I have heard the 727 will be used until all the A320's arrive. I know that once the A320 are all in service the 727 will stick around as spare a/c. Just incase a 320 goes mechanical. New aircraft need time to get the bugs worked out of them before they can be 100% reliable. RootsGirl can probably confirm this! The A330 C-FBUS will be a Roots machine as will and ex-LTU bird as Embrarer145 mentioned. Both aircraft are to be ready for June, I think.

As for the colour scheme I think it is very distinctive and professional looking - Clear and Crisp.
