AC & CP?

Sun Mar 11, 2001 10:37 pm

Why do the CP planes on AC flights in AC colours still say Canadian *** and not Air Canada *** ???

For example AC3007 to Hong Kong. It always calls up Canadian 3007 ???

Because they have not merged teh operating cetificates yet, right now CP is operating as an Air Canada subsidiary, just like all of AC's regional airlines.

It's sold as AC, but operated by CP. In effect CP is, until they get a common operating certificate, operating as an AC feeder. Just like AirBC planes carry the AC flight number.

Air Canada is having "Canadian" removed from CP planes, and former CP planes will now(or soon) have the full AC livery. I have seen CP 744's in FULL AC livery.

April 2. 2001 is the official merger date for AC Regional. We already have a common operating certificate. All the Reg. papers in the cockpit say Air Canada Regional already and have for a month or so.
