New Pak-Swiss Air Accord

Mon Mar 12, 2001 3:30 am

Pakistan and Switzerland signed a new aviation agreement which allows both PIA and Swissair access to any of the major international airports in both countries, PIA has been given fifth freedom rights to operate to any destination from Geneva and Zurich while Swissair has been granted permission to fly to Lahore and Islamabad with three flights each besides their present 4x weekly A330 operations to Karachi, Lahores state of the art new international terminal opens sometime this year, if SR choose to fly there it will be the first passenger service by a European airline to the city Smile

In the following timetable SR will operate 5x weekly to Karachi (instead of 4x).
Would be cool to see a flight from ZRH to another Pakistanian city.

PIA quit the swiss market in 98-99, they flew to Zurich initially with the 747-200 carrying on to London later the route became a terminater with the A310-300 wonder if theyll consider flying there again, never know they did resume their Athens operations just a year after discontinuing it Smile
