777 And MD11

Mon May 03, 1999 11:52 pm

Which is bigger the 777 or the MD11? I always thought that they were
about the same size. I looked at AA and BA - their 777s seat about
230+ passengers in 3 classes. While MD11s typically seat 250 - 270.

Is the MD11 really a little bigger than the 777 or is it just the configurations
that the airlines choose that make it look bigger. How big is the 777-200

-Thanks in advance
I've flown on 9V-SPK.

Well, there are many ways to measure size. The MD-11 is bigger than most versions of the 777 by MTOW, but the 777 has larger dimensions. It is mainly configuration that causes these seating differences.

The 777 has more seating capacity, but is a bit smaller. I think. The -300 has more range then the MD-11 but the MD-11 has more then the -200. I would rather fly on an MD-11 then 777 though.
