LH 744 SFO-MUC

Tue Mar 13, 2001 5:17 pm

I'm planning a trip in May, SFO-MUC on LH. First, what should I expect? Please share your experiences on LH. Additionally, what type of food and entertainment is offered? Are there PTV's? Finally, I'll be in economy but I would like the most legroom. Should I get a seat in an exit row? Does anyone know which particular seats would offer the most legroom? And if there aren't PTV's, which seats will offer the best view of the movie screen. I know I've asked numerous questions...I appreciate any information! Thanks a lot.

well, LH doesn´t have any PTVs (however, i assume that is gonna change when they introduce the a-340-600s, since LH then intends to introduce more amenities on its long-haul fleet and to improve the cabin interior, seats, design, and so on, that´s what i heard).
i tend to think that the food on LH is quite good, as well as the inflight entertainment, except for the lack of PTVs.
regarding the legroom, there are some LH 744s which are pretty much cramped, and some are not, that depends on the specific aircraft which is deployed on that route at that day. however, there are many more comfortable economy classes than the one of LH.
if you want to secure a seat with a good view to one of the monitors, you should take a look at the timetable where the seating plans are shown. however, this can only give you a rough guess which seat would be best to book on. sorry, that´s all i can see, i don´t pay much attention to from which i´ve had the best views.
hope i could give you some useful info!!!
have a nice flight!!!!!
oh, and expect a better flight eastbound, the westbound flight will be through the night and i sometimes experienced some slightly grumpy attendants and a less good (not worse!!!, less good!!!) service because the attendants tend to be quite tired. however, they shouldn´t let that show, it´s their profession!
nonetheless, i mostly had very good experiences with LH, so enjoy your flight, hope you won´t be disappointed.

If only pure sweetness was offered, why's this bitter taste left in my mouth.

A small correction Daniel, LH doesn't have PTV only in Y/cl, there is in F & C/cl though.
And no, LH wont have PTV in their Y/cl of the new A340-600.

sorry for not making myself clear.
i meant "doesn´t have any PTVs in economy", which our friend Modesto2 is booked on, i should have emphasized that more thoroughly.
i should know better because i flew in LH´s business class quite some times (on long-hauls) and certainly know they´ve got PTVs in the front (well, i used them  Wink/being sarcastic ).
in addition, i´d like to know if you could be a little more precise where you´ve got the info about LH definitively getting PTVs (i´m not calling you wrong!!!). that´s just because i once heard LH was at least thinking to do so. such things can certainly change...
however, i hope they still consider it because in my opinion, LH could really use some service upgrades...
