Delta/Aeroflot Livery?

Tue Mar 20, 2001 3:49 pm

This is ridiculous! Delta's new livery looks just like Aeroflots! I don't understand why they had to make a livery that looked so lousy. Can anyone explain this to me?

I like Aeroflots livery better!
The Aeroflot livery has cheatlines and has an identity that's very Russian.
The new Delta looks like your typical run-of-the-mill contemporay livery that most other carriers has gone to.
White with painted tail!

With all of the work I did in defeating the Russians during the 1980s, it makes me sick to the guts as an American patriot to see an American company copying the Russians.

I just hope G Dubya will enact laws which will outlaw this un-American corporate behaviour.

God bless America!

What do you have against DL's new colors?? I find the tail very beautiful, it's refreshing and lively. The "new" Aeroflot livery is just horrible, but there's nothing to compare with DL!
And anyway, DL's old and old-new schemes are not great losses, they were quite old fashioned.

Ummm... Ronnie.... you've set back the American Revolution about 230 years. There is no "u" in "behavior." More to the point, DLs widgets are outdated but a classic, the Deltaflot scheme is refreshing, and the new old scheme looks really cool on 727s.

Where and how does it look like Aeroflot? (Don't say "they have a Russian flag" - it's anything but the Russian flag). Why then this is not "LOThansa"?

My opinion is that if I saw the Delta c/s for the first time I would defenitely guess that it came from Russia.

I'm sorry but I don't see the similarities with LOThansa and Iranhansa??!!

I like both Delta's and Aeroflot's new schemes because they are a break from the normal I think!! Yes they may be similar but Aeroflot's came first and they've kept the blue line over the windows and Delta have the bare metal underside, so they're not confusingly similar!!

Thanks
Max

GOT, could you please explain, why?

Max, the tails of Lufthansa and LOT planes are at least no less similar than of SU and DL. Aren't they?

RIX

LOT has Crane on the tail since 1929. LOT back then was subsidary of Lufthansa with the name of AeroLoyd.

And maybe those similar birds are from that period of time?

Lindy, thanks for information. BTW, I even didn't mean the similar birds but just dark tails with something round on them - even this is more common than what DL and SU have! Still interested to hear from GOT and 777kicksass...

... Since Delta doesn't have a triangle on a tail anymore, DeltaFrance should be renamed to FransAero...

I think the 1997 Delta color scheme is the best looking especially on a 737, 767 & 777, the new Deltaflot scheme has too much white along the fuselage.
