I can't speak about Singapore because I've never been there, but I know HKG well. In style it is very similar, similar feel and look to the terminal. Very open, bright, big windows, moving walkways. You'd think it was designed by the same person (tho I'm pretty sure it wasn't) Big difference is that it is so QUIET - very few (maybe a few dozen I think) flights a day and thats it. Last time I went my departure was at 9.30am and we were the SECOND flight of the day. Most airlines still use the old Shanghai airport (which is nearer the city, has TONS of character but feels old). All the intl flights (I think) use Pudong - but thats probably only a half dozen or so a day. They plan to have more in the future. Its also MILES from central Shanghai with little public transport - tho they plan to build an elevated railway soon. Definitely a weid experience, stuck out in themiddle of nowehere - but I guess as Shanghai expands its gonna get very busy.
