How is Malaysia's service? Also, has anyone here flown on them? Are they profitable?

MAS could be best described as 'good value for money'. It is full service and the staff are generally friendly.

MAS (Malaysia airline system) life story has been 'keeping up with singapore airlines'. So, their fleet is new, and in economy on a lot of their airplanes they have personal tvs. And, they are one of the few asian airlines that uses the boeing 737-400. They've got a large fleet of them, and you can even see them in destinations like Hong Kong.

Remeber they are not SIA, and i would put both CX and SIA above Malaysia, but if they have a cheap ticket, i would buy it. For example, i may have a choice between britannia airways and MAS from Australia to UK, at a similar price. MAS service would leave the others for dead. They seem to look after western passengers a little bit better than local malay's. It seems they try and pay special attention to them. After all, this company and country needs all of those foreign dollars. Its basically good service and product at good prices. i give them 8 out of ten, overall, and 9 out of ten for value for money.

Lufthansa brings up an interesting point. I've noticed that differentiation in service on JAL as well. The FA's really treated the Japanese passengers like crap, but the western ones very well. And they definitely don't need the hard currency. Asians are bizarre in many ways. Oh, here comes another provocative opinion- I sometimes wonder if some Asian cultures (Malay and Chinese in particular) are like the French. They openly detest American culture and values while munching on Big Macs before seeing the latest ultra-violent Hollywood film.

Here's a provocative answer:
Is american culture made of fast food and Hollywood movies???
It seems to be...

Oh, I forgot the flag

Remember, to a provocative opinion give a provocative answer.

And I'm not even french....he he

I have been on Malasyia Airlines and I think it is the best in the world next to Singapore Airlines. There fleet is very good and they have the world's largest 737-400 fleet outside the U.S. I flew Malasyia Airlines three times on there 747-400, 777-200 and A330-300 aircraft from Hong Kong and Tokyo. There service is the best and there new hub airport in Kuala Lumper is probally the best one, alot better than the new Hong Kong Airport.

Malasyia Airlines economy is very good sometimes it feels like you are in first class.

Lost Baggage or should I say White Knuckles?

Your loathing of the French is becoming an obsession with you. OK if you want to talk about Europeans try the Spanish (you are Spanish aren't you?).

On second thoughts I can't be bothered, these pages should be about aviation only.

Just one last word even Spanish people hate Spain. Most of them leave and move to USA. I bet you are one of them. Don't throw stones when you live in a glass house.

Relax flytime. Did my post say abnything insulting about anyone? No, I simply pointed out a general public opinion that is shared by many people and often reported in the press. How many times do we hear stories about the French protesting Disney and Hollywood etc., and yet both do excellent business there. You've misread my post and jumped to conclusions. Even the Spanish hate Spain? That is dumber than the dumbest thing I've ever posted. Congratulations! You're the new champ.
