PIA, LTU, Who´s Next...

Fri Mar 23, 2001 9:49 pm

...to go back to the "old" livery. www.airlinersonline.com, that usually gives some interesting infos not to be found elsewhere, has this today: LTU might go back to the old livery after receiving bad critics from both tour operators and the public. Right so. LTU is a holiday airline and the new livery looks like a cheap scheduled airline but not like "I´m going to Mallorca." In the same news airlinersonline says the second A320 will be painted in the "old" livery already.
As far as you ask me, thats the better way. A slight overhaul of the red livery would be nice though.

I agree with you. The older c/s is much better then the new one. I hope that they will keep the old one.

Don´t forget Air India, in my eyes the most striking example as well as a trendsetter. (And BA, of course, to a lesser extent.)

Hmm, what a waste of money for LTU, first they design a new color scheme, and now they have to repaint some aircraft because they go back to their former c/s.

But I must say it is a good move of LTU as their new c/s was quite ugly and not very original (there are not many differences with the Swissair livery and the new LTU livery).

RE: I Think Why LTU Is Changing Again.

LTU is a member of the Qualiflyergroup. The alliance forced its members to implement the Qualiflyer-blue-belly concept. That's the reason why some of the involved airlines went for a new colourscheme design. Now the Qualiflyergroup cancelled that blue-belly concept, the airlines do not feel the need anymore to change. LTU is even now going back to the former scheme due passenger dislike the newest scheme. I think the Qualiflyer blue belly concept was one of the biggest mistakes an alliance made. Perhaps that also occured the very bad situation in the alliance.

P.s.: Na, this was for me an interesting topic because I was very disappointed when I saw LTU's newest red-Sabena look a like livery. And thanks for the great tip of Airlinersonline.com. Great news site!

Good night!

I wish Delta , Air Europa amd EL AL would go back to there old liveries . That would just make me so happy , all of these airlines going back to there older liveries (with Delta I mean the one before the Delataflot scheme).

I don't understand how a low-fare, second-rate European charter airline was so influenced by customers and vacation planners that it changed its livery back???

This makes little sense, besides us losers, who else cares that much? It's not Germany's proud flag carrier.

I think El Al's new colorscheme is awesome, a real improvement.

Air Europa's, while a little boring, is better than the old red and white dreck.
