Sat Mar 24, 2001 3:40 am

Does anybody know the reason why flight CO 1843 IAH-MEX March 22 was cancelled?

Thanks.

CO1843 was but one of at least three flights cancelled yesterday due to MD80 maintenance problems.

Thanks, Iahcsr.
Also, do you know why flight 1842 today (Sat 24) is running so late? It is the "return" of flight 1842 las t night. Do you know if it was also some maintenance related thing or is it due to the runway closure at MEX?

Adam84: I have no idea what you are talking about.

That post was to JAVOMD88, he wrote Continental Sucks anyways or something along those lines. It must have been deleted.

CO1842 had maintenace issues of some sort. Being some of the oldest aircraft in CO's fleet, MD80's (and DC-10's) are much more prone to mechanical ills then other aircraft types. This week seems to have not been a good one for the -80's.

I have flown all types on CO and COExpress' fleet in the last 14 years except for the ERJ135 and the 764, and never had a canceled flight until last December, when my IAH-MEX flight was canceled, precisely flight 1843! That is what caught my attention this time. (It was also an MD-80, by the way).

Anyway, I hope CO soon starts flying 73G's or 738's or bigger from IAH into MEX regularly, since all we get from IAH are MD-80's or 733, which are not as nice as the newer types inside.
