Cheapest Way To Get Prem. Economy?

Sat Mar 24, 2001 7:01 am

Good day. Having flown coach many times with Virgin to London from Miami, I must say that I am not too impressed with seat and leg comfort. So if I wanted to fly premium economy, what would be the cheapest way to get tickets? I know the Virgin site sells them for $2000 r/t, but that is a little out of my budget. Is there a deal for buying the full coach fare? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hey...
I am flying Virgin Miami-London-Athens Eleftherios Venizelos...
And we tried premium economy, but it was DOUBLE the economy price ticket which was 818 per person. SO I am stuck flying hte back of the bus, at least i will have a PTV!  Smile
Good luck with finding a good ticket- Premium economy looks very nice
However regarding the seat and leg comfort I am sure those old 742s will be phased out soon, and will be replaced by better 747-400's or something

Yep, the B742s will be phased out entirely within the next 2 years and replaced with A346s and the B744s arriving later this year.

What class will you be flying to ATH?

PLEEAAASE give us your trip report, I'm desperate to read a VS A321 one!

Enjoy your flights,
Jamie.

The really cheapest way would be to whack a guy holding a premium economy ticket over the head and then take the ticket. That would definitely be cheapest.

UA econ + and Virgin Premium Econ can't be compared.

Work for Virgin. Not sure what their employee flight benefits are, but most airlines will put their employees up in either in their business class or first class (all non-rev travel is space-available, so you end up in the best seat that they can put you in be it first class, business class or coach). That's the advantage of working for airlines. I've worked for two airlines (AirTran and ASA) both have great flight benefits, but at AirTran I rarely got a seat in Business Class (I was happy just to be in the exit row most of the time), and really didn't feel like asking for an upgrade. Now when I work at ASA, I nearly always flew Business Class on Delta (the best flight benefits in the industry bar none, especially since ASA and Comair employees get full DAL flight benefits), the only times I didn't get business class was if it was full, and that only happened four times out of the nearly 20 flights I took on Delta. I can say this, I looooovvvveee Delta's Business Elite cabin!
