BA 777 In Tpa!

Mon Mar 26, 2001 3:15 am

A little while ago (1-2 years ago) I was going somewhere and we past the TPA airport and guess what I saw? A BA B777! It was so cool because that was the first time I've seen a 777 "in person"! Can someone tell me when they fly into TPA, I know it's seasonal. Thanks.

Fly safe,

No BA fly to TPA 3 times a week from LGW throughout the year. Its operated by AML which is to be disbanded from next year with BA taking over the routes for themselves. I dont know if theyre going to keep all of the routes though with Orlando and Miami already served I would have thought Tampa may be dropped considering that its really a tourist flight and BA have made it clear they dont really want too mnay tourists on their flights.

Right now they use G-VIIO/VIICR/VIIR on this route, with 36 Club World, and a lot of World seats. I think that they might drop it when their contract expires, as MCO is an hour down the I-4, and BA has a daily 744 there, and when LGW becomes all 777, it will likely be bumped to two 777s or moving the route to Heathrow if Bermuda II is amended in the next year.

As said BA operates to TPA 3 x a week. It is operated with BA aircraft and Flight Deck but the cabin crew are from AML. Its 28 CW seats and 355 WT. And seating in WT is 3x4x3 compared to BA 777s that are 3x3x3. A busy flight!!!! Now that BA has changed plans for LGW then this flight may end up with BA cabin crew on board. If reconfigured it would have the new CW beds and WTPlus seating and WT in the 3x3x3 config. Lets just hope it stays and then longer slips in Florida for the crew?
