Will Canada 3000 Add A Second Class?

Wed Mar 28, 2001 2:24 pm

Now that C3 and Royal have merged, will C3 add a new class like the Royal Class seats. I would think it would be best to get away from the charter they once were. I guess that will mean that the A330 will have to gain a new look!! And will the A320's and A319 layout be similar to those run by Air Canada?

Thanks,

Grant

Hi Grant,

From what I hear, one of the things that is being incorporated into the "new" C3 from Royal is the Royal Plus section. It may in fact be called the Royal Plus section too!

However, don't be fooled, because Royal Plus used to have wide seats, much like Transat does, but they then switched to just having normal seats with very nice legroom ... like an economy plus. The service is upgraded with Business class meals, and more choices from the bar.

I believe the plan is to put the Royal Plus section in all of the aircraft in the new C3.

Hope that helps.

Another thing, I hope they keep the free earphones and bar service for everybody!

Update

Here's something new!

I asked my instructor about Royal Plus, and told him that it was too bad economy seats were used. He said that wide, blue leather seats were to be installed in Royal Plus on possibly all aircraft! I don't know if it's true, but that would be awesome! It would surely add some class to the cabins.

These seats are identical, so I was told, to the ones they used to have on their L1011's.

I would think that they should because they are starting to offer more long non stop flights and to places where business is becoming more extreem like YYZ and YVR to DEL and SYD and FRA. Does C3 fly to Japan yet or HKG?

No but they have nagoya rights.

The furthest C3 goes right now is Sydney. But I'd put money down saying that C3 will start into Asia when they get their A340's.

As for a second class... cross your fingers, but don't hold your breath. I would be (pleasantly) surprised if they decided to add a business class. Perhaps when the Royal buyout is completed, they'll do some renovating.

They need a total upgrade of all aircrafts to a decent business class. Or some better seats. I know that with these three airlines coming together there are less options out there. I feel that the seats will sell because of the reputation of the airlines....well atleast C3 and QN. It will be a way to launch the airline....C3 with new business class seats. Just a thought,

Thanks,

I think tha C3 as it has to compete with Air Canada know they will be adding a business class cabin . But they have to start attracting the Business traveller that likes to travel with these comodities on lomg haul flights.

Well, like I said, I've heard over and over that the Royal Plus class is going to be retained, and will likely be called Royal Class with the new Canada 3000. I think it's as sure as it gets with aviation.

The big question is, and again, I was told by my instructor at Royal, who is an Inflight Director, whether they are adding those big blue leather business class seats. I really hope they do! They'll keep the low upgrade fares, with upgraded meals, and much better service, I think it will offer unbeatable bang for the buck.

Again ... only time will tell.
