Now is this list just to Honolulu??? I think you may find increased service to the smaller cities, Maui, Keahole-Kona, and Lihuie.

How sad. Where have all the 747s and L-1011's gone???  Sad

Now there are 737-700 flying accross the pond...how crazy is that?!?!

Bring back the 747 and L1011. hehehe

Well, at least ATA still flies the L1011 to Hawaii.

I was lucky enough last summer to be on one of the last United 747-200 flights to HNL from SFO.
I am glad Hawaiian still operates the DC-10.

I think it is criminal to squeeze people into a little 737-700 and send them over the Pacific Ocean!
What a mess.

Jet Blue sqeezes people in a A320 and flies ONT-JFK
AA flies 737-800s LAX-BDL
CO flies 737-500s SNA-EWR
Those flights are much longer than Aloha's SNA-HNL flights

Given the choice of a transcon JB A320, AA 738, and CO 735; I would choose the JetBlue A320 any day.

I wish airlines would use larger aircraft on longer flights. However, I do realize that economics, not passenger preference rule the airways.

But, Airbus A320 family aircraft do open up new routes that otherwise may not exist. But on transcon LAX, LAS, SFO, IAD, PHL, JFK, BOS, etc. why not use more widebody jets!

According to the latest timetable, the three CO flights from SNA-EWR are all on 737-700 equipment (not too much difference). Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe the 737-500 has the range to go SNA-EWR, although a couple years back they did use a 735 on the SEA-CLE route, probably about a four hour flight. That route is no longer operated, however.

CO has very very nice 737-500 aircraft. They are almost brand new.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Go Blue!!

Thanks for correcting me. They must have changed the schedule since last summer. Maybe CO is doing it to beef up the competition. TWA started 757 nonstops to JFK from SNA recently
