My AA Start Date:

Fri Mar 30, 2001 10:13 am

To all my airliners.net friends:

Just want to let you know that AA called today to inform me that all of my medical work has been completed and that I have been scheduled to start training for F/A in class #15 beginning on April 16.

I can't wait! My first actual training flight is in the 3rd week of training -- the Super 80.

I'll keep you all posted while I'm down there!

Best,

AA@DFW (a.k.a -- Jeff)

Wow, that's pretty quick!

When I got hired by Delta, we had about a week of indoc training, about three weeks of ground school, about a week and a half of simulator training and THEN we got released to fly IOE.

It took me about 5 weeks or so until I was able to even touch a Delta Jet.

Is it like a day of indoc, and an AQP-style training program or more of a traditional ground school?

Congratulations AA@DFW. Obviously it is your dream to work for AA. I know you'll enjoy your job every bit as much as us pilots, and fellow crew members. How many days of indoc. do you guys get? 3 WEEKS UNTIL FIRST FLIGHT!!! WOW.

Well, I don't know when the first training flight is for pilots, but for flight attendants it is in the third week @AA. The first and second week are spent on policies, procedures, etc. then in the third week you fly the super 80.

Thanks for all your encouragement!

I appreciate it!

Mikey,

Right now I am a graduate student and instructor at the University of Maine in Orono, ME. I teach courses in communication and journalism while working on my ph.d. I enjoy teaching and my graduate work, but I am way past due for something enjoyable!

If I enjoy working at AA I will probably not go back to finish. It all depends on how much I enjoy it!

Best,
