Traffic DC-3?

Fri Mar 30, 2001 5:51 pm

I just saw the movie Traffic last night (yeah we get movies a little late over in Europe). Anyway I was surprised to see a DC-3 being used on the drug runs to Mexico. It looked like a real a/c and not some hollywood prop, reg# N-????68. My question is how many DC-3's are still flying around in North America and where are they registered? any in Mexico? And has the DEA confiscated any of these a/c and if they have where do they sell them or what do they do with them? I was always under the impression that illegal activities would be done with Cessna's or Pipers rather then a very noticable DC-3. But then again it is only a movie. And DC-3's always look nice!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Any info would be good....

By the way I loved the movie and even more so that I saw it in a country where drugs are so easy accesable. A very different perspective on a very serious issue.
