Seats on 744 Raffles Class are very good though surprisingly I found the seats on UA J Class better. Service is good though seems a little forced. Food is excellent. Upstairs is nice and quiet with lots of space.

My first flight on SQ J was from DPS to SIN. The cabin was half empty. The flight attendant did know my name and used it while speaking to me. Then without being asked she brought exactly that magazin that I would have taken. And so on and so on.

Service is superb, how must be F. Meybe we'll have the chance once...

F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S.

Along with BA's club world, the best business class out there.

Enjoy! Smile

I have flown SQ J class several times, on longhaul to CDG, AMS, SEL and LAX as well as some intra-Asian hops. On every flight I was lucky to have an empty seat next to me (the f/a will move people around to give people as much space as possible). The 744 has seats with electronic controls that I found very comfortable (I'm 6'1"/185cm), but my boss who is shorter prefers the C class seats on UA. The A340 and 777 I have flown did not have the newer seats in Raffles but they were still very comfortable. Of course nothing beats flying upstairs with only 4 other people as I had on a CDG-SIN flight last year...5 pax with 3 f/a's! It was better than a private jet.

The crew are very nice, and used my surname each time they addressed me. They pass thru the cabin every 15 minutes during the entire flight. I kept waking up to a full water glass that I'd drink for fear of knocking it over while asleep, only to awaken to it refilled!

Food is excellent with several selections, usually based on destination or origin. The satay starters are very tasty. I still have all the printed menus from my SQ trips as they are very impressive.

On a couple of trips they passed thru the cabin prior to landing to say "thank you" with a tray of goodies to pick from ("for your kids" as they'd say in Singapore). I got a small SQ 777 model and some SQ playing cards; they also had writing paper, small datebook calendars, etc.).

And, at least in Changi, you're luggage should arrive at the reclaim area well before you do provided they have included the Raffles tags.

Have a good trip.

Make sure you choose the upper deck on the 744 on the way to Cape Town.

Hello Ansett767,
I didn't know where you're going to fly from in Australia, so the aircraft might be an A343, 777, or 744 so I couldn't recommend an upper deck in case you're flying on A343 or 777  Smile

Anyway it's nice that you have the emergency exit row on the upper deck, they have the most leg room. Also, you can pre order your meal from a wide selection of Book the Cook menu on your SIN-CPT flight, just ask the SQ office nearest you.

Hope you enjoy the flight!

I recently flew MEL-SIN-LHR return in Raffles class. I found the
lower seat cushion very hard as did the 2 people that I was
travelling with, apart from that I couldn't fault any other part of
there service. It was excellent.
The express check out offered to F & J class was a great feature
at LHR. It saved some much time.

Regards,
Ade

I flew yesterday SIN - BRU on SIA well i was in economy class.
That was good but not superb ,excellent etc.
there were a lot of f:a that's true ,a cold and a warm towel, 22 channels of entertainment.
The food, well there 's better, child menu very very poor in comparaison of DL AA UA.
The stop at ZRH is to much that takes 2.15, a sort of cleaning between the pax...
That will be maybe great this summer when the stop at Zrh 'll cancel and BRU - SIN on nonstop flight 3/week.

THEN GOOD FLIGHT ,LONG 15h30, BUT NOT SUPERB!

Service is great.
Entertainment is great
Seats are not that special. Many other airlines are better. They are not that nice if you are tall.

All around CX is probably better. I perfer to sleep than watch movies.
