I am not sure how much training BA does it for, when my friend was on the BA sponsorship course they only did 60 hours in Florida (this was many years ago). Right now there JAA and FAA are not getting along too well therefore the FAA might start playing silly games with the FAR's basically making JAA students unable to train over here.

Hiya LF
Yep NW donated a 747-200 N608US to WMU. Why? Free publicity, I guess. They were gonna scrap it anyway. They took out all the engines and business and first class seats. As far as I know thats all they took out. I didnt notice any of the instruments missing. Mind you I dont know that much about how many instruments are supposed to be there. Its really cool sitting in the captains seat. It gets around 120F during a hot summer day in there. Anyway to answer your other questions WMU is a popular aviation school, we have students here from all over the US. Yes BA does send their cadets here, along with air lingus and Emirates. Here is their webpage http://www.homestead.com/speedbird5/index2.html. Let me know if you have any other questions.

The best person to talk to at Western Michigan University is the dean, Joe Gulifoyle. He can answer any questions you may have.

Zsx81, do you go to Western? I'm a first year student here.

British Airways has its training program here for the pilots, along with Aer Lingus and Emirates. I believe that they train here for a year, but I'm not sure. I just remember hearing something like that when I toured the College of Aviation a couple of years ago.

Woody a year? That is 66% of their course, I highly doubt it is quite that much considering the differences they have to get used too.

I checked, and that's what it said on the website. This is a link to the area that says how long they stay at Western. http://www.aviation.wmich.edu/airlinesponsored.html It says that they stay for about 1 year.
