The Godiva is going bye-bye. You might be lucky enough to get the end of the stock if you're flying within the next week or so.

By the way, United Airline, nice job keeping the questions concise and at a reasonable frequency. I mean this seriously; I notice a real difference.

Thanks Logos. I shall keep up with the good work.  Smile

Is the Godiva going FOREVER? I think it will be back after UAL has get over with the Financial Difficulties.

Agree?

Dave is right, it is going away. Cutting costs to pay the pilots new salaries. Well, that and fuel... Who knows if it will ever come back? It depends on the feedback of the business travellers.

Does anyone know whether the godiva chocolate is in godiva packaging or whether it is personalised with the UAL logo?????

I'm interested because I work for a company producing Belgian chocolate printed with airline logos on the packaging!!! It's very interesting news for us as Godiva have quite a stranglehold on the 1st class market!

Anyone know the good contact in UAL???!!!  Smile

I guess it shouldn't be that surprising. When cost-cuts need to be made, in-flight service always takes a hit. Many airlines chose to cut back in their premium cabins before coach, which I find a rather questionable decision.

I remember when they used to offer Godiva chocolates in trans-con Business Class. I suppose those are gone too?

The Godivas are being taken off just temporarily, United Airline, and no, Aussie, the boxes are regular gold foil Godiva boxes. No UA emblem anywhere.

IIRC they had them in Biz class too...the f/a's came around with the gold boxes and allowed you to choose which one you wanted...I thought that was pretty cool.

I think the reason that the premium services take the biggest hits when it comes to cost cutting is that there is not anything else they could possibly cut from coach!

DL offers Godiva Chocolate mints at the conclusion of domestic flights. Intl flights are capped off with Neuhaus Fine Belgian Chocolates.

The Godiva will probably be back after the Merger. Or when UAL has solved the Financial Problems I would say.  Smile

With all the ways airlines waste money, reduced service to the 12 highest yield passengers on the aircraft is ridiculous. This is definitely a decision made by some bean counter who spends way to much time studying charts and graphs etc. The person sitting in that international first class seat can afford to buy all the Godiva chocolates they need, what the airline needs to do is convince them they value their business.

Who needs those fancy chocolates anyway?
I'm sure the nuts served by Southwest contain far more protein. If you want fancy food, munch on the funky blue food served by JetBlue.

Just to offer expensive food to attract customers I suppose.

Not that they don't get a hefty discount from Godiva, but extrapolate the number of boxes of Godiva that they'd need to buy each day for each of their international flights for both First Class and Business Class...remember, the smallest number in Business is 32, the largest at 123.

Re: Delta's chocolates, the Godiva's served on domestic flights are not mints, as was posted. I have had them on quite a few flights since I began my internship here, and they are dark chocolate squares. Very good, though - I don't usually like dark chocolate. The Neuhaus Belgian Chocolates in Business Elite are very good, also, and are served by letting passengers select from the box. The domestic Godivas are individually wrapped and no selection, just dark.

I think your question has been answered about 17 different times. Happy?

And if you're asking whether or not Delta offers chocolate on int'l flights, go back and read the above posts again.
