The Situation In Australia

"Qantas delayes arrival of A330's", "CASA threatens to close Ansett", "All Ansett 767's grounded".....I go to New Caledonia for 1 week and this is what I return to see!

Well, I hear those people who are crying anarchy in the Australian aviation industry, people who are saying not to fly in Australia at the moment, and other people who are totally opposed to the entire aviation industry in Australia after this weeks happenings.

I will certainly think again before I plan a holiday!

Look at the facts please. Casa has made a number of orders that ansett are to follow, if they do not follow them then there will be further action. Do you not see that this is one of the most POLITICAL issues in recent Australian history???

Do you seriousley think that CASA and the Federal Government would dissolve Ansetts abilities to serve the Australian public and employ thousands of Australians?? I THINK NOT!!!

Most of the things that I have heared from people are base purely on shakey news reports only wanting to sell a few newspapers.

So before you all freak out about the worlds safest aviation industry, look at the facts and calm down!

The delay of the first 2 A332's for QF is hardly a big deal. The first ones due in NOV02. Just a little behind schedule thats all.

I will post again ther latest A330 and A380 delivery schedule for QF.

A330-200 = NOV02, JAN03, FEB03, APR03, JUN03, JUN03, AUG03
A330-300 = OCT03, NOV03, MAY04, JUN04, SEP04, MAY05.

For those interested the latest schedule for the delivery of the A380's is as follows:

A380-800= OCT06, NOV06, MAR07, JUN07, JUL07, OCT07, MAR08, MAR08, JUL08, OCT08, MAR09 JUN09
744LR deliveries:
744LR = NOV02, DEC02, JUL03, JUL04, JUL04, JUL05

The first 2 A332's have been delayed around 6 months or so because apparently Qantas were going to takeover a cancelled order from another airline for the first two A332's. But it has been decided that it is to much extra work and money required to change engineering differences and was not worth the bother and cost. So they are waiting a bit longer for the first A332 as shown in the above schedule.
