"On 27th May 1985, British Airtours TriStar G-BBAI overran the runway on landing at Leeds/Bradford Airport after a flight from Majorca. All the 416 passengers were rapidly evacuated, the TriStar suffering serious undercarriage damage, and the 160-tonne aircraft was recovered for repair within 48hr of the incident. The major recommendations to be made following the investigation of this incident was to improve the drainage of wet runways and to investigate landing performance on runways with a significant initial downslope."
