Air Canada Close To An Accident

Sat May 22, 1999 7:41 am

Just watched Global news in Canada and an Air Canada B767 made its way out of the runway after landing at Pearson Airport in Toronto earlier today. I missed where the plane was coming from. There were 145 passengers onboard and everybody is safe. The authorities are trying to find out if there was a technical problem with the plane. Does anyone know any more about this?

Apparently, the nose gear steering failed after landing, and the aircaft taxied on the edge of the taxi-way. A pushback tractor, then came out and towed the aircraft to the gate.
Nothing serious.
