do I detect a bit of sourness among the the boeing lovers toward Frontier & their fleet choice?? I like the updated livery, I think it is a bit more corporate than the old Frontier font.

The problem is that the FRONTIER stands out in a very naff way on this livery. I'd wish they reduce the size of the font about 20% and it might look a bit better.  Smile

Really well done!
The billboard lettering will prove an asset for the airline's image. The unadorned, capital letters better suggest the wide open spaces of the west, yet is at the same time it is modern and refreshing. As an aircraft livery, the bold lettering attracts attention but is this is done professionally. These traits are important for an underdog carrier trying to build its company image as "strong and mature".

The color scheme looks great! Way better than the all-white fuselage scheme that seems to be the trend now these days! Laxewrman sums it up pretty well about the open spaces of the West. I know what it's like in wide, wide West, since I'm from Alberta.

Looks like a "flying Billboard", the cursive font prior to this one was nice ...

Not bad, except for the font they used for 'Frontier'. They should have kept a more 'handwriting'-style font, don't you think?

Nothing special...The billboards aren't bad, but maybe if they had kept the cursive font and just extended it the length of the fuselage, like a signature, that would have been classier.

Looks terrific!

From a graphic-guy-at-heart, this is a good move, but let's see what they do with their corporate image... This looks like a logo change, which is most effective when it is consistently applied (are you listening, Delta?!?)

Does anyone know whether or not the 737s will be repainted into the new livery at their maintenance intervals?

I hate it! They should have kept the current livery on their A319's. This livery is far too simple to think up!

Can we say Braniff all over again? I think the new design is absolutely hideous. However, I am very glad they chose to keep the wildlife tails. I bet the old livery would have looked superb on the new 'buses.

Glad that Frontier got rid of their aging 737s and got a new pait scheme but they need to get the cursive back in their name. Other than that its' great to me.

I don't see what's so special about it. Nothing new! I've always liked the variation in tails, those are great, but this new billboard thing is nothing new. Besides Braniff, Pan Am and Avensa have done it before. It's alright. I do agree the font could be just a bit smaller, but looks like they want to be noticed. Commercial arts/graphic design dregree or not I would hardly call this a masterpiece.

PS Airbus has nothing to do with it... even on a 737 this livery would be just ok.

How do my American friends say?
That's my 2 cents?

This American friend finds the billboard titles tacky and unappealing. The old lettering was a bit too reminiscent of Alaska Airlines, and the new one lacks any redeeming qualities, whether in size, font, color, or style.

On a brighter note, I do like the tails reasonably well. I'd like to see a manatee, hedgehog, or skunk, though.

Frontier certainly had marketing studies done that demonstrated a need new for revised "Frontier" lettering. Focus groups (not airliner fans) have more influence with the decision makers. Unless your logo is Coca-Cola, handwritten lettering can be hard to read and interpet at a distance.

However, either version is fine by me...since they will be putting down here in Houston in the coming weeks

I still like the old 737-200 better. It looks just right on 737 than on A319's small tail.

This probably gain some discouragment on Boeing's decision of HQ city location selection in Denver ever since when Frontier's decision to become all-airbus fleet so I am pretty sure that it's embarrassment to city of Denver.

The new look is very good looking except for the colors of the letters. They should have keep the letters green, they stand out more. As for the 737s, they will not be painted in the new livery, as they will be returned to the lessors as the Airbuses enter the fleet. As for the animal tails, the only animals they put on their tails are indigenious to the western part of the United States. A post script on this, I've worked a few Frontier flights in ATL when AirTran used to do their ground work. Those planes they keep in great shape. And the brownies they serve are pretty good! (Sure beats snack mix!) The billboard look ala PanAm, Braniff and West Pac (who folded after their merger with Frontier fell through) does serve notice, although the letters are too dreary a color. Overall, I like the new paint job, and of all the new paintjobs that have been introduced this years, it's one of the best. They followed the old saying K.I.S.S., keep it simple stupid.

I agree about green lettering, Srbmod. The thing that's important to me is the plane, though: brand new A-319s. Finally!

I really think that it's great too. It really is bold and stands out as ~THE SPIRIT OF THE WEST~ "kudos" (sp?) to Frontier.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

One thing about the new livery is the fact that on this particular A319, Frontier has the SAME picture of the wolf on both sides of the A319, unlike the 733's and 732's, on which there is a different picture on each side of the vertical stabilizer. The new livery should have included two different pix. I could think of a FAR better livery, but it passes.

Apuneger and CactusA319,
If they were to make it cursive, or handwriting style, it would look alot like Alaska Airlines, don't you think?

I think that it looks great!. If they have a few different tail designs that would be even better.
