United Airlines and British Midland (bmi british midland) today jointly announced the launch of daily nonstop service from Chicago's O'Hare International Airport and the first-ever nonstop flight from Washington Dulles International Airport to Manchester, U.K.
From Manchester, bmi british midland serves three cities in Scotland (Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen), and offers frequent service to London Heathrow.
The new flights, which will be operated by bmi british midland Airbus A330-200 aircraft configured for three classes of service, begin on May 12 from Washington and June 8 from Chicago, respectively.
The new service it will be in cooperation with Star Alliance partner, United. In addition to offering BD codeshare flights from 29 U.S cities, United will provide bmi british midland with ground handling and line maintenance support at its Chicago O'Hare and Washington Dulles hubs.
United and bmi british midland are offering special introductory economy-class fares as low as USD$399.00 from Chicago or Washington to Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen.

"With the introduction of these new flights from Chicago and Washington, D.C., business travelers in the U.S. will benefit from bmi british midland's unique service to Manchester and points beyond."
BD706 (UA4820) will depart ORD daily at 9:20PM and arrive in Manchester at 11:00AM the following day. The return flight, BD705 (UA4821), will depart Manchester at 3:25PM and arrive in Chicago at 5:55PM that afternoon.
BD702 (UA4854) will depart IAD six days each week (except Tuesdays) at 5:50PM and arrive in Manchester at 5:55AM the following day. The return flight, BD701 (UA4855), will depart Manchester six days each week at 12:40PM and arrive in Washington at 3:45PM that afternoon.
The first flight to Washington D.C. from Manchester was suppose to be launched on May 3. while Chicago
is May 28. Too bad they delayed the new service for 10 days.
