TWA Announces New Non-Stop Service Between Boston and Santo Domingo

Route is the First New Service of the Combined TWA and American Airlines Network

ST. LOUIS, May 2 /PRNewswire/ -- TWA will launch new daily non-stop service between Boston and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, on July 1, 2001. The new flights will complement TWA's existing non-stop service between Boston and San Juan, and between Santo Domingo and New York (JFK). The flights are now available for sale through TWA reservations at 800/221-2000. The flights will be available for sale through all booking channels later this week.

"This is the first step in the combination of the extensive TWA and American Airlines Caribbean networks to offer our customers an enhanced and
unprecedented level of service throughout the Caribbean. It is no accident that our first announcement is one of new service not previously offered by either airline," said Jack Stelzer of TWA's planning department.

This new flight, like existing TWA flights, will be offered under the TWA flight code. This summer, TWA and American plan to implement extensive code-sharing of the American flight code on TWA flights, as part of the
eventual integration of all TWA flights into the American schedule. Customers on all TWA flights now can choose to accrue frequent flyer mileage in either the TWA Aviators(R) program or the American Airlines AAdvantage(R) program.

Later this year, all Aviators portfolios will be converted to AAdvantage accounts, with Aviators members receiving mile for mile AAdvantage credit for all of their Aviators miles.

TWA flight 150 will depart Boston at 7:45 a.m. daily and arrive in Santo Domingo at 11:44 a.m. Flight 165 will depart Santo Domingo at 12:50 p.m. and arrive in Boston at 4:45 p.m.

"TWA currently offers two daily Boston-San Juan round trips and American offers three. We will eliminate one of the TWA San Juan trips, shifting the 757 aircraft to the new Boston-Santo Domingo route. The result will be a stronger combined Boston schedule to the Caribbean, offering four San Juan frequencies plus new service to Santo Domingo. This is typical of the kind of
schedule synergies and improved customer service that the combination of TWA and American will bring to our customers," Stelzer said.

TWA Airlines LLC is a subsidiary of American Airlines. Together with its Trans World Express(R) and Trans World Connection(R) marketing partners TWA
serves more than 160 destinations around the world with more than 1,000 daily flights.
