Icelandair is an both and airline. It is maily used by Scandinavians travelling cheep to the US. Seatpitch in Economy is a narrow 30-31" but the service is splendid. Exept the aircraft to be filled with tourists which can make you feel as if you were travelling on a regular charterflight! Their Business Class is OK, seatpitch of app. 40" with 2+2 seating on 757s. On 737s seatpitch in business is a modest 33" with 2+3 seating much similar to e.g. British Airways, Lufthansa aircraft.

service excellent, attentive, good food, new Boeing 757-200 aircraft (love their new blue/yellow livery).

When I flew them about a month ago I was on their brand new 757 (3 days old at the time!!!!!) which was fitted out with the new "777-style" cabin. Very nice indeed.

It's probably too late but I would have recommended a couple of days stopover in Reykjavik. It's a very expensive place but you will never ever see anything like it.

My firs long-haul flight was with Icelandair.

It was when they had their former livery and the planes were clean, the service excellent and I didn't pay that much attention to the narrow seatpitch.

Have a nice flight!

Thanks for the reply  Smile I really appreciate it.
and ik must say you all awnsered my questions.

I reall hope i will fly on the new 757 but you never no for sure. Big grin

i have to say that the thing that suprised me the most was when i heared that they fly the 757 single aisle for their longhaul  Sad not that i don't like the 757 but i always am affraid it will go at the expense of comfort on a long flight.

normally i fly United or Swissair over the atlantic.
I guess to problem with me is that i always am a little bit anxious to try new airlines.

thanks again to you all.
warm regards

Hi Gunfighter 6

Rest asured that you will fly the 757! Icelandair only uses their 2 737-400 for routes from Iceland to Europe!

Enjoy the trip and the scenary in Iceland!

There are a great little airline that can pay attention to detail. The 757 is great and a stopover in Iceland breaks the journey. The service is fine and very nice and the FAs were nice when we flew with them. Hope you enjoy????

In these days of 8000 mile nonstops, a flight like BOS-KEF would probably hardly be even thought of as "long haul" anymore. BOS-KEF is actually a shorter distance than BOS-SFO, BOS-LAX, or BOS-SEA.

I've flown with Icelandair and can endorse all the favourable remarks above. Also, I think their FAs (female) are the most attractive in the sky.
