Which Engine For FedEx A380?

Will the engine alliance finally secure an order for the GP7000 from FedEx on the A380 or will they go for the Rolls Royce Trent 900?

Because Fed Ex has on their current aircraft P&W and GE engines, they will go for the GP7000 engine on their A380s.

Air France I think is a strong candidate for the GP72000.

Although Tony Blair was expressing his wish to see AF select the Trent 900.

Don't think that will happen.

Fedex will almost certainly choose its engine based on price and politics. Past engines will almost certainly play no role. As a matter of fact, probably the sole reason that FDX doesn't operate any Rolls Royce engines is because our fleet types never incorporated them in the first place. Its pretty obvious to me that FDX doesn't subscribe to the conventional wisdom of engine commonality....as a matter of fact they must subscribe in a theory that's diametrically opposed to engine commonality. But I'll venture to guess that they'll go RR.
You're only as good as your last departure.
