Park One Aircraft In Your Garage.

Sat May 05, 2001 1:16 am

What would it be?? Use your imagination and choose the one aircraft you most would like to see in your garage. It can be anything you want...from a Piper Cub to a 747. Even military types, if you choose. Right down to the tail-number. But, just one please. My first & only choice is N294AA, an American MD-82. It was the first aircraft I took my little girl on her very first plane trip. From LGB to DFW. One of my best flight ever.  Wink/being sarcastic Any & all replys are appreciated. Regards.

It could be nice to have an A380 in the garage Big grin. But if I could choose now I would take a CRJ with extra fuel tanks for transatlantic capacity.

Beeeautiful plane. Check out some of the pictures on here of her. I was supposed to take her YYZ-YUL but there was a mech. problem so I was delayed 12 hours and in the morning had to take a 7557...  Sad
Next flight.... who knows.

Some of you must have some pretty big garages there...

I still stand behind my choice of a Cessna CJII. The only problem being I couldn't get one for about 4 years from now.

As much as I would like a Piaggio P180 Avanti parked in my hangar, the reality is that I can't afford the 416 liters/hour fuel burn, the $165 000 engine overhaul bill, or the insurance.

On a more realistic note, I guess the Velocity kit plane would float my boat!

or perhaps an old Cessna C177 Cardinal, but preferably with retractable gear.

For me it would have to be the TBM 700. Cruise speed of 300 kts., stall speed of 61 kts. 1500 nm range. Nice for flying to any airport, and not too big.

But if we're talking fantasy, it would be a BBJ!  Smile

Regards.

If I could park one aircraft in my garage, it would be an American Airlines 737-823 Astro Jet colors. The reg. number is N951AA. Besides this aircraft being in special colors, it carried George W. Bush (when he was President-Elect)! Here is a picture of the plane:

I would have a nice customized BBJ. Maybe I could be like that eccentric billionaire in Contact who lived on a plane and hardly ever came down.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Would someone please e-mail me with instructions for how to post the pictures in their full size. Thanks!

Indianguy, your "ultralight" is actually a lightplane, the Leza-Lockwood Air Cam. It looks like a blast to fly.

Personally, I can't pick just one! So many planes, so many roles they fly.... So here's my list:

Italian built Sky Arrow (2 seater) for fun
Extra 400 for travel
Stemme S10-VT for soaring
Pitts S2-C for aerobatics
and finally, a paraglider.

But a Delta 727-200 Advanced, in her old colors, would be pretty nice....

I would like a PA 747-100 in delivery colors and interiors... Can you imagine going up the groovy upper deck lounge? Pan Am at its zenith... Flying the newest aircraft, staying at the Intercontinental. Come visit my PA 747 which is in my attic, not my garage at: www.pittman.com/hugo . It is being updated with cool stuff.

The neighbor accross the street probably has about a week or two left before he takes his 185 off of his lawn and puts it back into the lake.

Definatly one of the signs that spring is comming.

I'd write a check to the Russian government and take home one of the derelict Aeroflot TU-144s sitting at Monino. It would make its new home in a special hangar behind my future home on rather large acreage, and be completely restored to original, factory-fresh condition. I'd make it available for aviation enthusiasts to tour.

This is the one airliner I'd have. Mainly because finding space for a Delta L-1011-1 would be a challenge.
