Sat May 05, 2001 12:41 pm

I am flying on 2 American 757's to Phoenix and I was wondering how nice or how bad they are inside??? How do they fly??? Can you really feel the new "room"???

Thanx, Matt~

American Airlines 757s are mostly okay. But if you fly in a snow storm, you'll hate it. The inside is the same as any other plane. That means they're okay on the inside.

AA's 757s are horrible. If you are sitting in coach. it looks like one long tube since there are no bathrooms in the middle. Say that there is a service cart at one end and another at the other end in Y. There will be no way that you can get up and go to the bathroom. This is on the 757s that have the 2 small doors overwing instead of the 4 big ones like NWA and TWA have. In one pic on airliners.net there was a 757 in TWA colors; below was a caption stating "Pilots and management love it...FAs and passengers hate it. I personally have no problems with the 757s as long as the bird has four big doors on each side so that i'll know that there are bathrooms in the middle of Y. When you board AA, DL, and CO 757s and you are seated in eco it'll give you a feeling that you are in a glorified 737.

AA's 757s are great! I flew them from SNA-ORD, and DFW-SNA. I saw nothing wrong about them. This was before the "More ROOM THROUGHOUT Coach" promotion. The leg-room should be even better.

They are pretty much just like the MD-80s in the fleet, but that last 757 I was on(a little over a year ago) didn't have "more legroom" and I think you might get lucky as I think that most if not all of AA's 757s are reconfigured.

Your point is??

The AA 757s do have more room throughout coach, but most still have the old AA interiors. The AA 737-800 has more legroom and all planes have the new interiors. Both have video screens coming down from the center aisle.

Yes, all AA 757 have MRTC now. And the takeoff performance is pretty good too!

I'don't understand why some folks on here have a big deal about the long tube...all airliners are tubes. The 757 is not that much longer than the 72S cabin, and I don't think it is nearly as long as the stretch-8's are.

If you want to talk about cramped...The DC-8's that UA & DL flew in the late 80's could be real tight. DL even had all coach 8's called "aerobus" to FLA thatwere real tight seating 244 or so as I recall.

anyway, you will enjoy the 757 on AA..sorry to digress.
