TWA's Commuter Service TWE

Tue May 08, 2001 6:52 am

Is TWE going to be Switched to AE? since they are all individual carriers that service other Airlines also. Whats going to happen to the Airports that only have TWE service? will the service be Dropped? I live in Burlington Iowa and we only have TWE, we once had TWE UE and American Eagle, AE puled out due to lack of business so if TWE goes will AE come back since it didnt make it the first time? Anyone welcome to comment about this

Well I know that already that some of TWEs flights are already run by AE....Namely all the ones out of NY.....we've been doing them for the last couple of Months ever since TWA dropped Trans States here in the NY area. As for the rest of TWE it's sorta wait and see. I can say that Most likely AE is going to take over TWE's routes out of St. Louis (Which ones get dropped I have no clue). From what I heard (a rumor) that STL is going to be mostly Saabs. Eventually AMR is going to drop Trans States and Chataqua's contract for TWE (Why pay for something that you can do your self).
I reject your reality and subsitute my own

Yeah, most likely, STL will be all American Eagle.

- Chataqua Airlines has signed an extensive regional jet codeshare agreement to feed America West Airlines at CMH. Most likely, their STL operations will move their and new jets will go to Columbus.

- Trans States has announced that they will drop the RJ routes they fly for TWA. Most will probably move to PIT where TSA now flies as a US Airways Express carrier.

Trans States is dropping RJ service on June 30th due to scope restrictions of their "new" mainline carrier. They will start deliveries of EMB-140s later and may plan to restart service. The 145s are moving to the US Air codeshare.

Chautauqua and TSA are still the regional feed till the end of 2001, from there, it's anyones guess.

I have long been thinking the same thing. I travel quite often to PIA. I got so tired of the surly service at STL and PIA, broken and delayed planes. You name it i encountered it all and more over and over again. Cant wait for DL to start service to PIA. I feel sure they are going to do quite well in that market. Wont be long and TSA will be history at STL and PIA among other places. Counting the days.
