Virgin Interiors

Thu May 10, 2001 3:45 am

When I last flew on Virgin, a B742 from LGW to BOS, the interior looked pretty worn out. The PTVs were nice, but that was about it. I know that they've been re-doing their upper class, but does anyone know if they've done anything in the last year or so to refurbish their economy sections?

Yes they have. I also flew LGW-BOS. I did the route in Feb 00 and I got a very old -200 G-VGIN out looked very tired and the aircraft was not in very good shape.

On the return BOS-LGW I was lucky enough to (at the time) be the first -200 in new colours. G-VIBE. It was a remerkable change to the old -200. The seats where new and smart. The PTV's where bigger and more reliable. And overall a much nicer and newer looking planes.

Hope this helps

VS have great interiors, in July 2000, I flew on G-VHOL, an A340 in new colours and it had odyssey entertainment, was very nice inside. In March 2001, I flew G-VTOP a 747-400 in new colours with odyssey, again very nice, and 5 days later, I flew G-VIBE, a 747-200 in new colours and the interior was GREAT with odyssey, nice and clean, although VTOP's Upper Class bar was nicer than on VIBE.

Virgins have great interiors but it can be a little tight in there.
