I was there...here is what happened...
My dad and I left the Marriott Harbor Beach hotel about 11:00 and began to walk north along A1A. About 5 minutes after we left, I heard the faint drone of prop engines, and within seconds a PBY Catalina made a low fly-by over the water. About 10 minutes later, we were still walking north on A1A and an AA aircraft (either 763 or A300) made a couple of passes and did a sharp left hand climbing turn. That was it for air traffic til we decided to stop at the intersection of A1A and Sunrise and find a place to sit...we sat on the concrete "wall" separating the sidewalk from the beach. I got out the video camera and prepared to record:
We saw the following A/C (not in any particular order)
An-2 (my first Russian plane-in-flight sighting, not counting that Sukhoi aerobatic plane, Su-31)
B-1B (very awesome, two of them in a low altitude fly-by)
CH-46 (dragging five guys on a rope out the aft cargo bay)
CT-114 (Snowbirds, I thought they were way better than the Thunderbirds)
F-16C (Thunderbirds, I noticed that the number 4 aircraft was replaced with the back-up F-16D...I wonder what happened to the number #4 a/c)
About 2:00 my dad left and about 2:45 I left the beach to head back to the hotel, and I watched what I could from the balcony in our hotel room...
Any other questions, feel free to ask!
