Canadian Vs. Air Canada

Wed May 16, 2001 10:40 am

I just wanted to get views on who prefered Canadian or Air Canada better? I personally adored Canadian because they went head over heels to help customers and their staff was the best.

Canadian, but only because they adopted most of Wardair's customer service policies and combined them with CPair's eligance...if I had to choose between the three it would be WARDAIR All the way.

Isn't it clear that everyone hates AC and everyone loved Canadian? Is that what every post about aviation in Canada boils down to? (Well, except for those lovely posts from that uprooted cheerleader.)

Why don't we ever hear about poor Royal? Or how wonderful CanJet was?

Just curious.

Lindy field, we don't hear about how great Royal was or Canjet, because we are comparing "greatness" such as in the case of Wardair, and Canadian to something less. I personally loved Royal's service, which was among the best I've seen, but I don't think it deserves a stop as one of the greatest airlines of all time.

That's just my opinion.

Nuno I'm tellin your boss you said that... HEHEHE Actually I do think that ROYAL was the Wardair of the 90's except that it had to deal with the 1990's market reality, and did the best it could given the situation of the industry at the time...CANJET>..well I dunno about them...and I don;t think anyone will every rave about the service at C3 although I think it is getting better....slowly!

Definetly Canadian, mainly because I always liked their color scheme and because they were the only one's to have 737 service to my town (YKA). I hate Air Canada, their fares are outragous and their livery plain sucks.

Canadian Airlines was by far a much better airline than Air Canada.

AC Or CP?

Thu May 17, 2001 1:07 am

Honestly, although I'm an HUGE AC fans, but I have to say that CP's service is better! But one bad thing abt CP is that they are not adaptive enough, I mean they were not seeking for a lot of changes and they have old management style, which is kind of hard to compete in this fast changing world market. They need to be more innovative I guess. Well, just my own opinion!  Smile I love their goose livery! I guess I have to say both airlines have their strengths and weaknesses. But afterall, they are both CANADIAN AIRLINE COMPANIES! So I like them both!  Smile

I would say, I love CanadiLike the luggage policy between these two. I remember one time,
my sister was travelling Canadi
Meal service is another concern. CP contracted with Luthansa Skychef as their
meal service in Canada and most places around the world. The meals are much better than CARA, the company who supplies meals for AC.

I had an experience to travel with my parents. Since there was ticket difficulty, we cannot fly together. My parents flew with CanadiYou know what happened? I arrived one hour later than my parents! Ridicoulous, eh? On same day, similar weather condition and same route. AC's performance is worse than CP. For the meals, my parents' CP flight has one meal and one light snack. The snack is a sandwich, by the way. The AC meal I've got is just some pasta. Nothing else. And the air fare I paid to travel with AC is CAD$50 higher than what my parents paid!

That's why I prefer CP, not AC at all.
I hate AC to use their A343 to fly trans pacific routes too. They are far too slower than CP's B747-475ER.

I have had the pleasure of flying Air Canada, Canadian, Canada 3000, Wardair, Nordair.

I have flown both Air Canada and Canadian on numerous occasions.

My experience with Air Canada and Canadian has been exactly the same.

It's now time to look forward...

Just heard too much bad news about AC in the media. This makes me not like AC that much. Also, all the take over news just make me feel bad about A/C as this will eliminate competition. At YYZ, the AC terminal arrangement just make me so confused. I still don't know T1 or T2 I should go if I travel by AC or Air Ont.

just my opinions

I for one would like to have seen Mr. Milton take the best of both worlds and implement them at the new Air Canada. If he took CP's service( believe me when i say that our svc at CP, especially the J class svc was 100% superior to AC) and combined it with AC's new technology, a/c and not to mention $$$$$, then the new product would be world class and then some. But unfortunately he has decided to retain the old substandard, but adequate AC product. Shame really.

CP/Canadi>n all the way. I am a bit biased because my parents were loyal to CP and I have flown them more often, but I have flown AC enough to make a comparison. AC's staff isn't terrible, there are good cabin crew who make you feel welcome and that a small request is not an insult...and then there are those who have complete contempt for their customers. I never had a bad experience with CP/Canadi>n staff.
Generally, the seating (espescially on the DC-10!) and meals were better too.

I have flown one roundtrip (YYZ-LGW) with Canada 3000 and I was very impressed.

Come on dude, you have so many jets at YYC! I would be happy beyond words if WJ began service here with the 737-200.......

I've NEVER flown Air Canada. That'll change though. I'm booked on AC from YVR-LAX in late August for my honeymoon.

It'll be quite a long time before I see Air Canada as 'my airline'. It's pretty painful to see the Canadian goose sign coming down CP's hangar, and pretty painful to see an Air Canada 737-275, or see -275 associated with Air Canada. *sigh*
