You can admire the pretty same view while sitting on the Mackenzie Beach in Larnaca Cyprus

I know there are approaches like this that exsist but wouldnt wake turbulence be a problem espesially at St martens. Yea this one does look weird it dosnt look like the aircraft is going to clear the fence if it keeps decending.

This picture cannot be fake. Marlo Plate wouldn't put a fake on A.net. You guys need to visit the Photography forum before you judge someone's work! If you look, you can see the fumes from the exhaust and people are getting out of their cars to look. It is definetly NOT a fake.

Just an awesome pic. And yeah, it is rather low.

If the IB A320 keeps descending, say Goodbye to the truck........

BelugaBoy:

The truck is definitely still in front of the Airbus.

BTW: I read somewhere that the famous beach at St.-Maarten was closed a few years ago. Can anybody confirm this?

That photo is NOT fake, the flaps are fully deployed, on an A320 they are not huge (don't have to be). I'd say the aircraft was behind the Truck, a telephoto or zoom lense is probably the reason why its so hard to judge.

Great pic!

It's a cool pic, but I'm sure that there was no risk for the truck. The pilots know what they're doing.

It's a matter of perspective. The truck is actually some distance below and away from the plane. There was never any danger.

It's a great shot. I wish I had taken it.

Not to stir a fuss, but looking at the root of the tail section.....see the shadows? This side of the tail isn't lit, however the lighting on the fuselage indicates the sun is coming from a point to the right of the picture...yet the airport fence causes no shadows.......I still think its real, but the shadows ain't agreeing with me......

I'm quite certain the beach at SXM is still open, It is a very popular one with a couple hotels on it. They couldn't just close it, I would think. I've seen those places advertised in current travel catalogues, so i think it's still good.
Next flight.... who knows.
