Attention Auckland Spotters.

Fri May 18, 2001 6:37 pm

For those who are interested I just thought I would let you guys know that there is now 2 Virgin 744's sitting in the maintenance area G-VGAL has been there a couple of weeks and now G-VLIP has recently arrived.
Anyone know when G-VGAL goes.

Also Air Canada 744 C-GAGM is now here but unfortunatly is out of sight in the 747 hanger.

NZ762 ZK-NBJ is painted all white and is going to Air Atlanta Iceland unsure for how long. It's along side the VS 744's.

Also today Corsair 747SP F-GTOM operated for Air Tahiti Nui, that was a nice surprize.

Anyone know what happened to QF115 because it taxied to rwy23 and then rolled back down the rwy to the terminal most likely a technical fault?
Aircraft was 744 VH-OJF operating to EZE.

Scott.

I think VS are using Auckland only for the refit/repaint, and there's been no word of them operating flights to Australia (at least not in the latest FC literature).

Although I stand ready to be corrected!

Well, both 747s were there as of 2pm this afternoon. I got up to the fence and got a few nice photos (beware those of you wanting to do this - the long grass hides some big puddles!). G-VGAL had most of its doors open, I am not sure what this means. I just hope they closed them soon enough, it poured with rain a couple of hours later! I would be most apreciative of a definitve date/time of departure for G-VGAL

Cheers

I did exactly what you did VirginFlyer, and stood in a big puddle, but hey this is what you have to put up with to get decent pics.
