What Intl. Airlines Serve BOM - India

Mon May 21, 2001 9:56 am

 Big thumbs up *******************************************************************
I was wondering what airlines serve India from international destinations. Also, what airframe do they use?

I know that:

Lufthansa B742
Air Mauritius A340
Singapore Airlines (?)
Swissair (MD-11?)
Emirates (A320)
 Confused

but I do know there are lots more ... so please list them in above fashion and any other information you wish to share....

Singapore Airlines uses a 777. I'm pretty sure that it's a -200, but it might be a -300. KLM uses a Boeing 747-300 and Northwest uses a DC-10. I don't know if the equipment has changed, but I know these airlines used these planes about ten months ago.

LH operates 744s on this sector as well. All my BOM-FRA flights have been on a 744.

i though MAS uses A333 alongside the 772? they added frequecy to India and a few new destinations recently.

I heard that the new Indonesia private airline, Lion Mentari Airlines, received their A310-300 and soon flying to a city to india via Kuala Lumpur . seoul was also a new destination for them. i think it was Madras Lion Air was serving.

but who said boeing sucks? no war, pls.

Some corrections based upon personal experience.

GF uses 767s and 330s - not A320s.
SV uses 777s also.
EK uses 773s on occasion.
LH uses 744s as well.
Bellview has been temporarily suspended from operating to India.
KE sends 777s as well.

It is often said that GF has more pax load from Mumbai than Air India !

GF is the only direct competitor which AI has to Mumbai.

I think Aeroflot has a service there too.
